Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a life-long condition
Generalized pustular psoriasis (GPP) is a rare, life-long, inflammatory condition that can affect the whole body. Symptoms of GPP vary between people living with the condition and even within the same person. Chronic systemic (whole body) symptoms can include red and tender skin painful, sterile pustules, fever, joint pain and extreme tiredness. These symptoms can be ongoing and last for several months.
A GPP flare is when symptoms suddenly appear or intensify. If left untreated, GPP flares may become potentially life-threatening.
Everyone's experience of GPP is different. While you may not be able to predict when you will have symptoms or how severe they will be, recognizing and understanding GPP is a big part of managing your condition.
It’s never your fault when you have one.
It’s important to know that GPP is not contagious. You can’t catch it from someone else or pass it on.
Although GPP can have a widespread impact on your daily activities, there are certain steps your dermatologist may recommend to help you manage this condition.
